Covid 19 Market Update 27-4-2020
Hi everyone this week we can report some real positives as the farm gets into its Spring routine.
Spring is truly here and we are beginning to get back to the normal flow of things at the farm. As of last week the summer crops Courgettes, cucumber, tomatoes, aubergine and peppers are now all planted in the greenhouses. Courgettes have grown very quickly in the sunny weather and we had the first courgette flowers on Sunday. The lack of cold nights also mean we had some very early artichokes. We should have the first cucumbers in about 2 weeks.
City Harvest the charity that redistributes our left over produce from markets to food banks, community kitchens, shelters etc across London was also able to restart collections of produce from the farm last week. This will be on going through the summer as charities will be in greater need than ever for fresh produce this summer.
We are attending many of our regular markets and some new ones so please make a regular check of the current calendar of this weeks Markets, Collections and Deliveries
Please Join our Mailing List so that in case markets close we can keep you informed where you can still buy our veg.
The markets that are OPEN (see the calendar) will operate as close to normal as possible but with increased safety protocols and social distancing measures in place, and all produce will be bagged.
ORDERING A PREPACKED VEG BAG IS STILL ADVISED IF YOU WISH TO SEND A FRIEND TO COLLECT A BAG OR WANT TO SPEED UP COLLECTION.
It is still a possible all or some markets will close at short notice so online orders collected from market sites and collection points will mean you can guarantee your veg for the week as if your market is closed a collection can be still made from the van in an emergency. THIS IS NOW LESS LIKELY.
We have set up a collection point for Saturday Morning in Ada Street off of Broadway Market to replace Broadway and Victoria Park Markets and from this week one at Brockley Market please order here
We are attending Brook Green Market and Fulham on Saturday in addition to other markets.
Deliveries of online orders to addresses in the Cambridge area are available.
Stoke Newington market updates can be found here, we are not offering collection from this market as the moment
FOR ALL OTHER MARKETS ORDERING A PREPACKED VEG BAG IS STILL ADVISED
Please use this service to get started, if restrictions prevent markets operating in the future it will be the best way to supply our vegetables and will be the only way we can supply many customers because of logistics.
So please try to use the system to support us and get your veg. Get a friend to collect your bag if you can’t get to a collection point.
In this situation we need a simple solution to start. We can only offer a pre-packed ed bag but it is possible to exchange items on the stall for your own preference of needed if the stall is still running (relatively) normally.
Deliveries in London are not be possible at present.
A list of collection points will be available here, please check back here, we are looking at the logistics of deliveries to London.
